Summary of Position

We are seeking dedicated and flexible Bank Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) / Employability Officers (EOs) to join our team across Northern Ireland to support trainees on the Skills for Life & Work (SFL&W) and Apprenticeship 25 programmes.

As a Bank LSA/EO, you will provide high-quality, personalised support to students with learning difficulties, disabilities, or long-term health conditions. Your support will enable students to fully participate in their chosen course of study and engage effectively in all aspects of their learning experience.

This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible working arrangements while making a meaningful difference in learners’ lives.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Student Support – Learning Support Assistant

  • Provide one-to-one or small-group support in classrooms.
  • Assist students in accessing lesson content through clarification, explanation, equipment, and adapted materials.
  • Promote independence, confidence, focus, and active engagement in learning.
  • Support students to integrate fully into their learning environment and achieve their potential.

Student Support – Employability Officer

  • Placement Support – source, develop and maintain relationships with local employers across Northern Ireland to secure meaningful work placements.
  • Provide ongoing in-work support and monitoring to both the participant and employer during the placement period.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with Learning Support Managers, tutors and other professionals to understand and meet individual learner needs, contribute to agreed support strategies and reasonable adjustments, maintain accurate records and provide learner progress updates through the organisation’s management information systems, and attend relevant meetings and training as required.

Essential Criteria

  • Educated to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent to include Maths and English.  
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of directly supporting people with disabilities within an employment, education, or employment & training setting
  • Ability to work flexibly across locations throughout Northern Ireland.
