Summary of Position

The role of a Warehousing Tutor is to deliver warehousing training as part of the ApprenticeshipsNI programme. This role involves working with employed apprentices who are undertaking formal qualifications in warehousing and storage, supporting their development through structured, workplace-based learning.

The successful tutor will bring sector expertise and a commitment to creating safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments that enable each apprentice to thrive and achieve their potential.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering warehousing and storage training sessions in line with awarding body and programme standards.
  • Supporting apprentices to achieve recognised qualifications through tailored, workplace-based learning.
  • Carrying out initial assessments and regular progress reviews to identify learner needs and set development goals.
  • Adapting delivery methods and materials to ensure accessibility and inclusion for learners with additional needs.
  • Providing clear instruction, practical demonstrations, and feedback to support learner understanding and progress.
  • Maintaining accurate records of attendance, progress, assessment evidence, and employer engagement.
  • Preparing learners for formal assessments and ensuring readiness for assessment.
  • Carrying out assessments / observations of leaners on employer sites.
  • Responding professionally to learner concerns, disengagement, or safeguarding disclosures.
  • Staying up to date with curriculum updates, warehousing industry developments, and funding rules (ApprenticeshipsNI).
  • Complying with all safeguarding, GDPR, and health and safety policies.
  • Working collaboratively with Clanrye Group staff, employers, and learners to deliver excellent learner experiences.
  • Completing any other relevant duties as agreed within the scope of the self-employed tutor contract.

Technical competencies (qualifications and training)

 

Essential Criteria

  • A vocational qualification at level 3 or above in warehousing operations or similar (E)
  • Occupationally competent in warehousing operations with 2 years recent experience (E)
  • Hold or be working towards a recognised assessing qualification, which could include: level 3 Award or Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or A1 Assessor Award / D32, D33 or similar. (E)
  • Relevant Teaching Qualification in individual’s specialist area or a willingness to undertake the Certificate in Teaching (CiT) qualification (E) 
  • Good standard of Education to include Maths and English at a grade C or equivalent. (E)
  • Good IT skills – to present data using Microsoft packages or suitable alternative (E)

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience supporting learners of all ages to include those with additional learning needs (D)
  • Familiarity with ApprenticeshipsNI framework and quality standards (D)

 

Experience

  • 2 years’ experience of teaching. (D)
  • Proven experience of designing and delivering qualifications to individuals. (D)
  • Experience of working with people with learning challenges. (E)
  • Highly competent in using ICT with excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite to include Sharepoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. (E)
  • The ability to teach and progress young people with a good track record of achieving high levels of retention and achievement in class (D)

The successful post holder will avail of the following benefits:

  • Holiday Arrangements: 20 working days per year rising to 25 after a period of 2 years’ service plus 12 statutory days (holidays for part-time roles will be calculated on a pro-rata basis).
