A range of ‘Employability’ and ‘Community Development’ programmes are available and delivered utilising an individualised tailored wraparound approach to include health and wellbeing initiatives, training and skills development, accredited qualifications and employability support.
Skills for Life & Work (SfLW) is a vocational programme for young people aged 16-21 with a recognised learning difficulty/disability or up to 24 years if in care. This employability programme has two tiers: a 3-year programme and a 1-year Youth Academy programme offering a range of accredited qualifications to include vocational, essential skills, employability and personal development. The programme activities help young people address personal and development needs through wrap around support and independent living activities as well as gain recognised skills and qualifications to help them move into employment or progress to higher-level education or training.
Clanrye Group Youth Academy (CGYA) for young people 16 – 18, up to 21 with a disability and up to 24 if care experienced. This 1-year employability programme offers vocational sampling with hands on learning on work placements, as well as qualifications in vocational skills, essential skills Numeracy. Literacy and Digital Skills, Employability and Personal Development. Assisting young people to progress into employment or higher-level education.
About the Job Role
We require experienced bus drivers to transport Participants safely and efficiently between our various training centres.
• To ensure punctuality, effective route management and clear timely communication in case of delays.
• To ensure all trainees arrive safely at their destinations.
• To ensure trainees are safely seated in vehicle using appropriate safety equipment i.e. tie downs, seat belts and to safely operate all equipment associated with the vehicle i.e. tail-lifts, wheelchair clamps.
• To assist trainees, when necessary, in entering and leaving the vehicle, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
• To pass onto management any general concerns regarding trainees behaviours or wellbeing.
• To report any trainee non-attendance, refusal to travel, or significant lateness to the programme team in line with attendance procedures.
• To report safeguarding concerns promptly to the Pastoral Care Manager and to follow procedures if concerns arise during transport.
• Daily vehicle safety checks to be carried out, any maintenance issues documented in logbook ensuring no vehicle departs if unsafe. Undergo periodic CPC training.
• To maintain a valid driving licence and Driver CPC qualification, and the participate in periodic CPC training as required.
General Duties
