Clanrye Group Launches WhatsApp to Support Students with Next Steps

Clanrye Group has launched a new WhatsApp service to make it easier for young people to get in touch and find out about their options after school.

As GCSE exams get underway, many students are beginning to think about what comes next. Clanrye Group is encouraging young people, and their parents, to explore training and employment pathways available locally.

The organisation delivers a range of Department for the Economy-funded programmes, supporting young people to gain skills, qualifications, and experience.

These include ApprenticeshipsNI, which enables individuals of all ages, not just school leavers, to undertake training and achieve qualifications while in paid employment, which must be secured prior to enrolment on the programme. Skills for Life and Work is for young people 16-17, up to 22 if you have a disability and up to 25 if you are care experienced. This programme also provides extra support for those with additional needs, if required. Whilst the Clanrye Group Youth Academy provides support for those who are not yet ready to move directly into employment or training.

Across its programmes, Clanrye Group offers training at Level 1 and Level 2, alongside Essential Skills support where needed. The organisation works with local employers to provide placements in retail, customer service, warehousing, horticulture, ICT and administration.

Programmes are delivered across the wider Southern area, including Newry, Banbridge, Armagh and the Craigavon area, ensuring young people can access support close to home.

Liam Devine, CEO of Clanrye Group, said:

“GCSE results and exam time can be a stressful period, and for many young people it brings uncertainty about what to do next. Not everyone wants to stay in a traditional classroom setting, and it is important that they know there are other options available.

We know from speaking to young people that picking up the phone or sending an email is not always how they want to communicate. Many are much more comfortable using messaging platforms like WhatsApp.

That is why we have introduced this service. It gives young people a simple and direct way to get in touch with our team, ask questions, and find out what opportunities might suit them.”

Young people can now contact Clanrye Group directly via WhatsApp on +44 28 3089 8119.

All programmes are supported by the Department for the Economy, reflecting a continued focus on helping young people across Northern Ireland to develop skills, gain qualifications and move into employment.

Clanrye Group is encouraging students and parents to get in touch now to explore the options available and plan the next step after school.
