Mental Health Awareness Week reminds us that awareness is only meaningful when it leads to action. This year’s theme highlights the power of practical steps to protect and strengthen mental wellbeing.
At Clanrye Group, action means delivering real, accessible support where it’s needed most. Through the Healthy Living Centre Alliance, and in partnership with the Mental Health Foundation Northern Ireland, we are proud to offer community-based programmes that respond to the close link between physical health, chronic pain and mental wellbeing.

Better Days Pain Support Programme
Facilitated by experienced Health Trainers and our specialist staff, the programme offers a safe and supportive environment where participants can learn practical tools to better manage their condition. Sessions cover:
- Physiotherapy guidance
- Pharmacy and pain management advice
- Nutrition
- Mindfulness and breathwork
- Mental health workshops
Participants frequently report increased confidence, improved self-worth and a sense of reassurance in knowing they are not alone.
The Wee Group: Building Long-Term Peer Support
For those who have completed Better Days, The Wee Group provides the next step. Delivered in partnership with the Mental Health Foundation Northern Ireland, this bi-weekly group runs Thursdays from 11am–12:30pm.
Over the next four years, facilitators will work alongside community members to develop sustainable peer support networks for more than 300 people living with long-term health conditions. The focus is on the whole person — mental, physical and social wellbeing — with workshops and shared learning that empower individuals while fostering connection and belonging.
